What is Pilates? 
Pilates is a unique system of exercises originally developed in the 1920s by Joseph Pilates. Pilates-based fitness strengthens and tones the muscles, creates a more streamlined shape, unites body and mind, and improves posture, flexibility, coordination and balance.

What are the physical benefits?
Pilates creates lean muscle mass and supple connective tissue, versus muscular bulk and stiff joints. It's a wonderful and effective primary mode of fitness, and is also a valued addition to other traditional fitness routines or athletic endeavors. Dedication to the Pilates method results in a stronger middle--flatter abs, slimmer hips & waist, tighter buttocks, a healthier back and a freer spine are all likely benefits. Thighs, arms, shoulders, calves and necks follow suit...in a few short months, it feels like a whole new you!

 
Pilates-based fitness (with a qualified hands-on instructor) can minimize the time spent in the gym and maximize the results of your investment.  New students often feel the changes and carry themselves differently within just a few weeks, because this training method also applies to our every day living. Core strength and fluid movement is never limited to your class time--it is an everyday habit and advantage!

Is Pilates right for me?
Pilates is right for everyone interested its reknowned recouperative effects. With its uncommonly wide variety of exercises and numerous modifications, Pilates is a universal fitness program. From novices to the athletic elite; teens to seniors; the recently injured to the most beautifully shaped celebs...everyone has the potential to benefit from Pilates training. Best of all, it is a workout that can be practiced for a lifetime!

MATWORK CLASSES
  • Exercises using your own body for resistance and control

EQUIPMENT CLASSES

  • Workouts can be high intensity, or very gentle and

           therapeutic, for rehabiliative support, pre-natal, etc. 

  • Customized classes to suit each participant
  • Semi-private classes - no more than 3-4 students per class

           training advances, endless variations for all body types
